Thickness Of Fibreboard

Fibreboard comes in various thicknesses, such as 3/4, 3/8, and 3/16 inches, each suitable for different applications. High-density fibreboard (HDF) is dense and strong, ideal for heavy-duty uses like subflooring. In contrast, 3/8-inch fibreboard is less dense but still offers good strength for interior walls, ceilings, and soundproofing. Meanwhile, the thinnest 3/16-inch fibreboard serves well for decorative purposes. Asphalt impregnated fibreboard (AIF) is primarily used for roofing due to its waterproofing properties. Understanding the thickness helps select the appropriate fibreboard for a project.
